COMPULSORY TEAM NEWS
I walked into a local store the other day and saw school supply lists posted. It's that time of year when I hear a lot of 'I can't believe summer has already come and gone!' It is also the time of year when the compulsory team program is rounding out its final month of pre-season training. Gymnastics, in part due to its indoor nature, has never been a season-on-and-time-off kind of sport. Significant time off means the loss of key skills, reduction of needed flexibility, and of course, the loss of strength. For our athletes returning to competition this year, this begins to become like the last few minutes of class before summer break. The hand that ticks away the seconds seems to tick slower with each click. They know what they have been working hard for is about to be performed for themselves, their parents, members of their families, and of course, the judges! For those in their first competitive year, they are beginning to think all of the repetitions and drills will never come to an end. They have no idea what competition is like so they see no rewards yet in sight. For the coaches, this month is like the first hill on the roller coaster clicking every inch forward and upward. Our eyes get very focused on every little thing because we know once we hit the top of that hill--Well, WHOOOOOSSHHHH! So whether you're on the team, the recreational or preschool programs, we hope we can make you fans of this sport and especially of our compulsory team here at CRS-Gym!

Castle Rock School of Gymnastics is now registering for the 2010-2011 school year for our Gym and Little Learners Preschool Program. KID CUTIES
Evan (2-1/2 years old) was doing handstands against the wall. "Hey, Miss Marcie, check out my 'grand' stand!"
Miss Marcie to Angel (9 years old): "Are ya' ready to do your back flip, little girl?"
Angel: "I am NOT a little girl. I am a gymnast!"
IMPORTANT GYM INFORMATION
PARKING: Please DO NOT park in the Kindercare lot. Park only in the lot directly in front of the main door and extending to the north and east. If you have questions about where you should park, please inquire in the gym office. Also, we have received numerous complaints about the long line of cars when parents desire to drop their children off. Please park in designated parking spaces, or if you find it necessary to simply drop your child at the door, please respect others and stop only momentarily. The congestion is causing a safety hazard for our children and it is annoying when others cannot back out of their parking spots.
PARENTS please do not enter the gym at any time during classes. It is a distraction to the students and the coaches. If you need to retrieve your child early from class, please go to the office and the staff member there will get them for you.
COMPLAINTS/COMMENTS All of us here at CRS Gym welcome your input and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns in person. Be aware, though, that any anonymous letters will not be addressed. Please have the courtesy to sign your letter so we may call you and discuss any issues. Also, it is important that you bring issues up at the time they occur. If too much time passes, the issue cannot be addressed appropriately.
USED APPAREL: Don't forget to turn in your used leos etc. to Miss Diane. She will price them, and once we sell them, we'll give you half the sale price off on your tuition.
SNOW DAYS: If CRS Gym classes are canceled for inclement weather, we will announce it on our answering machine, in an
e-mail blast, and on Fox news. If you call the gym and you get the normal telephone message, then classes are in session.
